My PANCE exam is schedule for January 11th, which means I have exactly one month to prepare after I finish my last rotation. The first weekend will be dedicated to PANCE study prep and then the following week will be the school-provided pance prep pearls review. I am using my surgery rotation to study all of the surgical related material,
When looking at my scores based on content break down from Rosh Review, Kaplan, PACKRATs, EOR exams, and the EOC, the trends are not consistent. For example, there are sections of the packrat I scored 100% in but on rosh my score in said subject area is much lower. This likely due to my continuous studying throughout the year and when the last time I studied particular subjects were that change my trends over time. Based on the most recent exam, the EOC, there was not any particular content area that it showed I scored extremely well in, rather, I did average across most sections or lower. For this reason, I am focusing my study plan to focus the most on the subjects that hold the most weight such as cardiology and pulmonology. I have reserved the pediatrics content for the last week because I remember a lot of the different infectious diseases & exanthems based on a memorization table so I would like to have that content fresh in my head, whereas cardiology and pulmonology are more about understanding the underlying pathophysiology for me. I also placed those subjects first so that if I get behind schedule those content areas will not suffer. I did not have time to include a review of every single medical subject so I ommitted dermatology, psychiatry, and OB/GYN.
I do hope to run ahead of schedule and be able to squeeze in some derm if possible. Psychiatry I feel proficient in enough to skip over, and OB/GYN is a huge subject area but is only worth 7% so I find that it is not worth the squeeze, although I would like to review main management topics like ectopic pregnancy and TOA if the schedule allows.
My calander formatting goes over each subject area with titles of related videos I will be watching. It is not my first pass on any of these videos, nor my second for that matter, so I do plan to watch them on 1.5x speed and they are each 10-20 minutes in duration on regular speed so I feel the schedule is doable. After I complete each subject area I plan to complete practice questions. I based the number of questions to complete in my calander by what is available in pance prep pearls/rosh and by subject weight or personal weakness. I have further broken up my time by morning and afternoon. I plan to spend 4 hours studying in the morning, followed by 3-4 hours each afternoon/evening. I have also chosen to complete a large number of

questions per block to build up stamina for the actual PANCE. I found myself unable to focus on the last 2 sections of the EOC because I ran out of endurance.
Overall, I am feeling confident in my study plan. I set aside an entire afternoon/evening to create it, carefully strategizing the content areas, questions, and pace. It will be a lot of long study hours but I believe this method will yield me my personal best results.
