About Me

My name is Sierra Teegarden and I am pursing my Masters degree in Physician Assistant studies at CUNY York College. I am class president of my cohort and currently completing my rotations with a graduation date of January, 2023.

I grew up in a rural area outside of Tampa, FL but have called NYC my home for the past 5 years and look forward to furthering my roots by beginning my career as a PA here.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science with a minor in Public Health at the University of South Florida in 2016. During this time, I was the president of the local chapter for Advocates for World Health, where I redistributed surplus medical supplies from local hospitals that were at risk of expiring before use and thus being discarded to community clinics in developing nations. That experience sparked my passion for working with underserved populations at the community level. My other activities included volunteering my time to patients at Moffitt Cancer Center and completed related biomedical research in drug discovery & synthesis, histology, and self-healing polymers. After graduation, I became a medical scribe, and was eventually promoted to Training Manager, at a federally qualified community healthcare center rotating between Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and OBGYN.

In my down time, I enjoy cycling, woodworking, and traveling. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
